Military General Service Medal 1793 1814 First Clasp:Busaco The Military Medal was instituted The Military Medal was instituted on 25 March 1916 to recognise acts of bravery in battle by non commissioned officers and other ranks of the British Army The General Service Medal 1962 2007 is commonly known as the Campaign Service Medal 1962 as was awarded with a minimum of one campaign clasp (in the instance 'Borneo') and it is believed that a maximum of six clasp have been awarded on one medal
