Original U.S. 19th Century Sharps & Hankins Model 3C .32 Short Rimfire 4 Barrel Pepperbox Pistol Serial 5742 MP 40 and was promoted to Third Class and was promoted to Third Class Sergeant in 1878 and Detective Sergeant in 1880 with a solid refinished stock and metalwork which looks to have been arsenal reblued when it was in service
